OUR STORY

Growing up in Muscatine, IA my mom and dad did most of the baking, I did some baking when I got older. In my earl 20’s I started getting into cooking. It wasn’t until my late 20’s I started baking and cooking a lot more. I would take the baked goods into work and got encouragement from co-workers to attend school. So I moved to Minnesota and went to Le Cordon Bleu where I received a culinary arts degree. I decided to stay in MN and worked at Chilis and continued to bake in my spare time, sharing with my co-workers.  At this point I began to dream about owning my own bakery. After a move to Florida and continuing to bake and share with co-workers, my boyfriend, Carlos, gave me the push and the help I needed to open Janie’s Sweet Delights.
